ModernModern is a modern take on the modern style of typeface, developed for the modern world. The initial purpose in designing this was to produce a font without any curves or diagonals so that it could be printed on an inkjet printer without any loss of quality. Having studied various styles of type, the modern style, as popularised by Giambattista Bodoni and the Didot family, seemed to lend itself best to being a model upon which the font could be based. By removing everything but the ninety degree angles, the font took on an almost futuristic appearance, reminiscent of the many pixelated fonts available.
